What this site is

Two-Hour Britain is a small, independently written guide to rail travel between UK cities. It doesn't offer bookings, accounts, or any interactive service beyond a contact form.

What we collect, and why

The only personal information this site collects is what you submit through the Contact form: your name, email address, and message. That's stored so we can reply to you and isn't used for anything else — no marketing lists, no profiling, no automated decision-making.

We also log the IP address associated with a contact-form submission, purely as a spam and abuse safeguard, and a single flag in your browser's local storage once you've dismissed the cookie notice.

Cookies and tracking

This site runs no advertising or analytics trackers and sets no tracking cookies. It uses localStorage — a browser storage mechanism, not a cookie in the traditional sense — solely to remember that you've closed the cookie notice. Clearing your browser's site data will simply bring the notice back.

Third-party sharing

We don't sell, rent, or share contact-form submissions with any third party. The site links out to operator websites (LNER, GWR, Avanti West Coast, BritRail and others) for bookings and further information; once you leave this site, their own privacy policies apply, not this one.

Data retention

Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and to guard against repeat spam submissions, and are deleted periodically rather than retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, or to delete it, at any time by emailing the address on the Contact page. We'll action a deletion request within a reasonable time unless we have a genuine reason to retain something (an active spam investigation, for example).

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
